Please join us in congratulating Lisa, an instructor from the Department of Dental Hygiene.
Lisa Lavery is a full-time instructor in the dental hygiene program at Hudson Valley Community College. Since joining the faculty in December 2013, Lisa’s academic responsibilities have grown to include freshmen and senior clinic co-coordinator, seminar coordinator for freshmen and senior seminars, SADHA and Community Services co-advisor, and freshmen and senior clinical instructor.
Lisa is also a lecturer for Oral Histology and Embryology, as well as Introduction to Community Dental Services. Lisa is active on the campus and in the community, providing oral health outreach programs. Lisa continues to practice clinical dental hygiene with a general practice in Albany and is able to merge her real-world, clinical expertise into her teaching style. She has assisted in developing continuing education courses for departmental support, which have included ethical dilemmas and ultrasonic instrumentation. Lisa continually participates in the annual Faculty Workshop program and enjoys CET courses offered throughout the school year.
